V&A Collection
Saturday, January 8th, 2011
We were thrilled when this new collection arrived yesterday. We have a wonderful selection of reproduction prints from original 1950s designs held by the V&A Museum. The designers are the likes of Jacqueline Groag (Mid Century Books), Shinkichi Tajiri (Mid Century Trees) and Hilda Durkin (Mid Century Rooftops). We love the subtle shades of these designs, I’d like to make a quilt with this collection – watch this space!

There's snow stopping us…
Wednesday, December 1st, 2010
Don’t worry, we’re managing to get your orders out despite the weather, business as usual at Fabric Rehab. Hopefully your postie can get to you! P.S Apologies for the snow pun.
UPDATE:- Orders are continuing to be dispatched quickly from Fabric Rehab but we are finding that Royal Mail are taking longer to deliver some mail. This is probably due to the bad weather and Christmas post.

How to….Christmas Bird Garland
Monday, November 22nd, 2010
Here is our second ‘time friendly’ project, for this you’d probably need a couple of hours altogether, but perhaps if you don’t have that time in one block you could cut the template and fabric in the evening and put together the garland in the day. Here’s how…

Cut you chosen template out of card (we used a simple bird design, but you could do Christmas Trees, mini stockings or hearts – the list is endless!). Select the fabrics you want to use, scraps come in very handy here, cut 2 pieces of fabric for each bird.

Place the fabric right sides together and sew around leaving 1/2cm seam, leave 5cm gap for turning right way. So you get a nice shape, snip around any curves or points, careful to avoid your seam. Turn right side out and stuff with wadding. Hand sew to close. Finally stitch your birds to ric rac or ribbon and voila!

We used our Scandinavian Christmas Bundles for the garland, unfortunately we’re out of stock at the moment, but they should be back in the shop by Friday.

And the winner is……
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Jennie, comment 22 – congratulations! This is what Jennie suggested:-
‘I adore your site and cannot help but buy lots every time I visit.
What would be helpful in my eyes is seeing all the fabrics in a category in one go rather than having to clck the option or browse per page, if that makes sense. Also because I usually trawl through all the categories anyway I would like to have to option to see all fabrics in one huge list, regardless of what category they are in. And then being able to sort by colour would be great.
And i agree that more customer or your projects would be really inspiring.
But keep up the good work as yours is one of my favourite websites!’
Thank you to everyone that entered and for all your comments, we’ve had some great suggestions. Its an exciting time for Fabric Rehab, watch this space for the new and improved shop…

Gorgeous Gingham
Sunday, September 5th, 2010

The shop now stocks some lovely gingham, we thought they warranted their own category, so you can find them easily. The width is longer than standard, so you get more to work with, a FQ measures 80cm x 50cm, so if you want 1/2 a metre you’ll receive a piece measuring 160cm x 50cm.

What's New?
Sunday, August 29th, 2010
Lots, that’s what! We’ve had a dry spell as far as deliveries go (not as far as the weathers concerned!), stacks has been ordered – but its taken a while to reach us and I’m glad to say its started to arrive.
First we have Kiss Me Owl Pink and Kiss Me Owl Chocolate, super sweet owls just twit twooing for good homes!

It might still be officially summer but the inclement weather has got me thinking about Christmas. I’m the first to twitch when Christmas crackers arrive in the supermarkets 3 months early, but we had to get this adorable reindeer fabric in the shop now. If you look closely you can spot Rudolph with his red nose. Perfect for stockings, runners and tablecloths. You’ll find him here in Funky Christmas.

Next we have the new Free as a Bird collection, lots of pretty colours, dots and sweet little birds.

Finally we have a new fabric category, Organic Cotton. Here you will find the lovely new collection by Nancy Mims ‘Free to Grow’, gorgeous designs that are produced using 100% organic cotton. We have organic plains to add to this category, they should be in the shop next week.

The fabric used for this sweet dress (Itty Bitty Baby dress) is on order, hopefully due to arrive soon. The good news is you can download the pattern free from Made by Rae. This is a lovely blog with lots of great patterns, I particulary like the ‘Big Butt Baby Pants’ – I’ve got to make some for Alfie!
As you can see we’re already taking your comments on board (free patterns), your input has been fantastic – keep it coming!

Bunting Card
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

We love being creative here at Fabric Rehab, whilst its great being busy packaging orders, any crafting gets squeezed in during our lunch hour. Hence this little project…
I’m sure most of us have a little stock pile of fabric hanging around, and probably numerous weddings and birthday’s over the summer months. So why not make a really easy bunting card? I made this one for a friends wedding celebration. Here’s how:-
Cut your scraps into small triangles and arrange on to a piece of card (I used A4 folded) using either thin ribbon or string as the bunting tape, glue into place (I used PVA glue). If you would like a more colourful one just use coloured card instead – TA DA! A really summery celebration card and dead easy!

They’ve arrived! I’m very excited (can you tell), I love, love, love these adorable owls and their googly eyes! I’ve been on the look out for curtain fabric for Alfies room – I think I might have found it.
You’ll find Scandinavian Owls in 4 colourways in ‘Whats New’ along with lots of other new designs.

Its cold outside….but Sidneys got the right idea
Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Our dog Sidney is a sucker for a warm fire (mind you, so am I), as soon as I say ‘shall we light the fire’ he’s camped out in front of the wood burner.
As its sooo cold we thought it would be wise to get some lovely needlecord into the shop, we’ve got 3 different designs and they can be found in the ‘Cool Cords’ category. They’d make gorgeous pinafores, skirts or shirts.

Happy snow year!
Thursday, January 7th, 2010

I don’t think there are many parts of the country that have escaped the snow and although we had alot today and local schools were closed, here at Fabric Rehab we are still getting orders out, we wouldn’t want to hold up any crafty projects! Having said that they may be delayed if Royal Mail can’t get through to the worst affected areas, hopefully not for too long.
So to brighten up a cold winters day we’ve put together 2 wonderful bundles of 12 FQs, equivalent to 3 yards of fabric in each bundle. They’re fresh, zesty and quite frankly irresistable! Available here in ‘Fabric Bundles’.

Baby Talk
Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Since the arrival of Alfie I’ve been thinking about lots of baby projects. I happened to mention to my mother-in-law that I’d love a quilt for his cot, I’d ear marked some fabric I wanted to use, and a couple of days later this lovely quilt appeared! Unfortunately this fabric has been discontinued but we have a lovely animal print ‘Funky Jungle’ that would make lovely quilts.

Look at this truly scrumptious ’Cupcake Teddy’ that one of our Fabric Addicts has made using Pink Cupcakes for her friends baby girl - who could resist! Take a look here for more lovely bears by Abby at Bubs Bears. If any of you would like to send in pictures of projects, please do, we love posting them on our blog for others to see.

Yellow tree dress
Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Finally some of the new stock has arrived, with very much of a spring feel about it. This lovely dress was made using our new Yellow Tree fabric. Its great with leggins or trousers in the fresher weather and once it warms up as a dress by itself. We still have lots more fabric on its way and will let you know as soon as it arrives.
