Fabric Rehab revamp giveaway – comments please!

Fabric Rehab is having a facelift.  We have lots of new  ideas, but we’d like to hear from our customers on how we could improve your shopping experience.  For example it could be about the categories or how you navigate the shop.  To say thank you for your help, comments left will be entered into our HUGE, BIG, GIGANTIC Bumper Bundle draw.  The picture above and below is what one lucky person will win, 35 – yes 35 fat quarters!!!   All comments registered between now and Monday 6th September will be entered into a draw and the winner announced after that date.

    a shop redesign, how exciting! And this giveaway is great.
    I have bought from your shop a few times and one of the things that would make that experience better would be to have the fabrics categorized by designer as well as type of print/fabric. Less important but also helpful would be to have the price per meter.

    Looking forward to the redesign! I love what you do at the moment! As for anything to making the new site more user friendly and spangly…. I would like to see links to your favourite blog sites and maybe favourite sites of your customers… searching for fabric by designers is also really useful… and free patterns are always a double bonus!

    I love browsing your site. I would like to be able to search by colour and designer name.
    I think the price by metre is a good suggestion ( see previous comment)

    Oh looking forward to the facelift and the new things coming.
    As an overseas costumer it would be handy to have a postagepricething so you know what it will cost before ordering.
    I would also like to find cordfabrics and other special ones on the site. Price per yard and Tina Givens patterns/fabric would be more then welcome too.
    Anyway I will order again ;)

    Great site that ive used a few times. What would be great is being able to search by colourway. Also as Luisa sais price per meter would be useful.

    I love browsing the website and not sure how you make over the categories but I like the suggestion of a price per metre. At the moment I am a bit of a novice so designer names don’t mean that much to me but they may do as I get to know more.

    The only suggestion I can think of to improve the shopping experience on this site would be to suggest the shopper sits down with a cup of cofee, maybe a cake or bar of chocolate and simply settles down to an afternoon of browsing fabrics and admiring their utter wonderment!

    Hi

    I am so exited about an improved Fabric Rehab – as if it could get any better!!

    The only thing I can think of is perhaps offer ideas of what fabric contrasts well with others. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to match up/contrast colours and patterns. I know that everything is up to indivduals but sometimes an idea is very welcome.

    I love your site as it is and really enjoy using it but understand the desire for a facelift. It would be quite helpful if the fabrics were categorised by maker/designer.If they could be grouped into colour ways it might make life easier for many a shopper.
    I think having it as uncluttered as possible would be my main suggestion, the fabric is the most important thing.

    I love the site and your fabrics generally. I think a ‘make your own bundle’ idea would be fab! Or a discount for purchasing multiple fat quarters? Or maybe the option of buying small squares for quiliting projects as I can’t cut straight!

    Lush giveaway, I would be chuffed as chips if I won!! I love your website and its already one of my favourites. The only thing I can think of to suggest is that when you click on a type of fabric for example Animal crazy, the picture you use to describe the fabric should be one that is in stock and available to buy. I was after the blue 2d zoo fabric for ages and got exited when I saw the picture but alas only the 2d zoo multi was available to buy :-( so I ended up buying it from the states instead. I do however LOVE the fact that I can search by fabric type, more often then not I know I need a floral, or geometric design and rather then trawl through lists of designers this suits me down to the ground, so PLEASE dont get rid of this option!

    I think these points have already been made – the two things I’d like to see are to be able to search by designer name and colour too. I love your fabrics but do get frustrated trying to find what I want sometimes. Will look forward to the revamp. Julie

    I adore your site and cannot help but buy lots every time I visit.

    What would be helpful in my eyes is seeing all the fabrics in a category in one go rather than having to clck the option or browse per page, if that makes sense. Also because I usually trawl through all the categories anyway I would like to have to option to see all fabrics in one huge list, regardless of what category they are in. And then being able to sort by colour would be great.

    And i agree that more customer or your projects would be really inspiring.

    But keep up the good work as yours is one of my favourite websites!

    I love your fabrics and the way you put them together in bundles. I just wish that FQ’s were a bit cheaper. I realise you are similar in price to other UK websites, but maybe more “special offers” – 35 FQ’s for free is a great start!!

    Love your site, hard to suggest improvement.
    I would like to see more vintage patterns as they are my favourites.
    I t would be nice to see little items made up in some of the fabric, to give ideas.

    Looking forward for the redesign!
    I’m an overseas costumer too, and I think it would be nice to have categories sorted by designer. Also it would be great if the mesures of the fabrics were put in cm too, so people who live in countries that uses this measure scale can know better the size they are buying.
    Having a section with free sewing pattern would only be a plus!

    Hi, love your site and was very pleased with fabric I bought. BUT major panic when I had paid for it online as I did not receive any acknowledgement and did not know whether order had actually gone through, even though money had been taken from my paypal account. So please ensure orders are acknowledged and some indication of posting date is given. Thank you!!!

    I think that your site is great, I love how colourful and fun it looks. I think having the fabrics grouped in different ways would help, colours/themes/designers Also having fabrics that work well together grouped would be great as I often find it hard visualising how fabrics will look together.

    Also having ideas about what you can use your fabric for would be great, possibly with links to items that have been made.

    Other than that I think your pretty spot on already ;)

    I am very new tofabic rehab and have only been on the site once. I think it is wonderful, so easy to use. I have read other comments about designers, colours and price and feel these are relevant points. But please dont forget it is the materialand the designs that we are all interested in. don’t get too complicated.

    I love the fabrics you sell but would appreciate being able to buy fabric in pairs- a pattern and a co-ordinating plain piece in a bundle! I sit for hours just trying to decide which colours and patterns to put together. As a novice with fabric (convert from papercrafts) I would really like more inspiration and gallery if work from yourselves and customers! Thanks x

    OOOhhhh a redesign! I love the site at the moment and find it to be one of the easiest to navigate. However, I’m thinking prices by the metre and maybe a tutorial section for us newbie stitchers?

    Also, what about matching some of the fabrics so that when you view one, there’s suggested matches at the bottom.

    I find your website very usable anyway- I particularly like the view all option on each set of fabrics- much easier than clicking each page- You could have a number in brackets after each fabric type- e.g. Linen(3)

    I would like, if possible, the possibility of searching fabrics by colour. Also, it would be nice to know how much I am going to pay in what relats to posting fees.

    I am looking foward to seeing the facelift! (by the way, I love the pictures of your headquaters, wonderful shelves filled with a feast of colour and Sidney, the best thing!)

    I’d love to see more vintage fabric. I check the category regularly as I use only vintage fabrics for my work. Sadly it’s all too often empty. Love your selection of new fabrics for crafty folk. Spoilt for choice they are!

    Somewhere for us to upload our pictures of what we’ve made with your fabrics would be great. As I’ve just started my own business and love using fabrics from Fabric Rehab, this would be an ideal platform for me to get my products to a wider audience and I’m sure there are lots of others out there who would appreciate the same opportunity.

    Maybe have a ‘shop of the month’ also where you feature a maker that makes & sells products using your fabric?

    I love the fabrics you stock and have used many in my bandana bib designs.
    It would like to be able to buy fabrics by the meter…
    Being able to search for fabrics by the designer would be handy too….
    Otherwise you website is very user friendly, great visually and you always have a great selection.

    I love this website, but my fave thing is to browse the fabrics. But as a bit of a novice, I’d like to be able to search by fabric type and also I’d like an option to ‘see all’ fabrics so I can sit and look through all the different patterns without having to remember which menus I’ve already been in.

    I have only shopped once at Fabric Rehab but I love browsing and working out how to buy everything I love (which is a lot!). I think the site is very user friendly anyway but maybe it could have an option where you could look at ALL the fabrics on one page aswell rather than having to go through every category. Sometimes I just like to have an overview of everything and see what catches my eye.

    A super site , easy to navigate, love that way you can search by pattern e.g. birds etc.Perhaps some indication of the motif size would be useful, perhaps comparing them to a 1p or 2p coin.

My one one one wish is that i could see it all………having the option of going through every single fabric without having to hit the back button and go through all of the catorgories. I do not like missing a single fabric….and cannot find this option. I want it all option of seeing everything please!!

    Earlier today I was helping update our work website & I suggested that we look at your site as an example of a site that really works! I have always found it easy to browse, lovely to look at & have never had a problem buying. One tiny thing that niggles me is when you are browsing patterns it says ‘showing 1 – 9 fabrics’ & I think it should say ‘showing 1 – 9 patterns’ but apart from that it is brilliant, so I don’t think many major changes are needed :-)
    I’m not usually fussed about who the designer is & I can work out a price per metre. Sorting by colour might be a bit tricky when you have so many multi coloured designs?

    love love LOVE the new fabrics, especially the fabulous 50s prints, quirky geometrics and florals – BUT – I really wish that you could source some designers who use other than cotton – am dying to buy something like ‘nutmeg’ in rayon or some 50’s crepes, or kitsch cord… if only there were some stretchy polyester versions of some of your wonderful fabrics I’d probably spend 3 times as much!! but thank you for all your delicious designs – loving your website soooo much x

    Love the website. Suggestions would be grouping by designer. Also agree with The madhouse about knowing what co-ordinates with what. Being able to see fabrics side by side would be good. Also more special offers and free postage – it really works! Also love the make your own bundle idea. That would be fab for presents for crafty friends.

    Ooooh A revamp – Very exciting!
    I love the look of the site and really enjoy searching the categories of fabrics but there are 2 things that would make shopping a little easier 1) is to be able to search by designer or designer collections and 2) to be able to click on a fabric and see the print to scale (either to see the full cloth or with a coin etc to show scale.)

    Love the site already, the fabrics are just so yummy!
    Re any changes – would be really helpful to list the price per metre – I don’t buy in FQs – I know it’s not difficult to work it out, but would be quicker to have it already done for me!
    Also, it would be great if you could have some “Suggestions” for fabrics that contrast together – I know you have bundles, but sometimes I am looking for just 2 fabrics, say for the outer and lining of a bag, and it’d be great to be able to see your suggestions of fabrics that would go well together – either in same hues or in contrasting colours.
    Lastly – what about an “If you like this, you’ll love this…” type of thing, where you can suggest other fabrics, a bit like you can on some movie/book sites!

    I love your site and have used it a few times, the only thing I don’t like is searching into a catergory and not having the fabrics all on one page immediately. I like all the fabrics on one long page so I can search quickly. With a baby I get a few spare moments and have to get a fabric hit very quickly.. I also think searching by designer would be very useful, although this could be done with a search box. Love the name and the look though.

    You have the most gorgeous fabrics. It would be helpful to be able to match up colours/designs by arranging them side by side on the screen – Click and Drag for example.

    Selling cheap remnants/offcuts would be brill!

    Love the customer projects pages. Your fabric inspires everyone differently so it’s always exciting to browse through and get new ideas.

    Oh lovely, a re-fit – does this mean that you’ll have even more fabric for me to drool over? I would love to be able to put in the quantity of FQs (or metres) before I go to the shopping cart (I’m at an age where I’m in danger of forgetting by the time it comes to checking out…) Like a lot of other customers, I too would like to see suggestions for co-ordinating fabrics as I do about 90% of my fabric shopping on line and it’s a difficult decision for people like me to make those choices due to monitor colour settings etc.

    By the way, will be back for those elephants and giraffes, so, so cute!

    I do so love your fabrics and often found sat stroking them not wanting to cut them up. But it is inevitable that I do and the results are fantastic. I have recommended you to many as your prints and service are fantastic.

    Ummm right an idea for your refit…. perhaps suggestions of what fabrics compliment each other. Sometimes I wonder what certain fabrics will look like together before I click on that buy button.

    A lovely site, would be great if you could select a fabric and place it on screen next to another just to get an idea of how they would look. Would also be great to have a scale with tape measure on each fabric, quicker to work out than the button method!

    Fabric Rehab is the first place I ever go to buy fabrics, and is an absolutely amazing website!
    I would like to see fabrics organised by price, so you can flick straight to the price range in which you are willing to spend :)

    A design board would be a good idea where you can see the fabrics that you have chosen side by side, to ensure the colours and prints look good together. Other fabric sites have them and I find them very useful. Your choice of fabric is wonderful, I want to buy them all; a design board would make sure I didn’t make expensive mistakes.     I am a big fan of your fabrics! I can not help buying something new everytime I enter the site, it’s become an addiction :) . The site has always looked fantastic to me but what I think could be helpful is to have the fabrics organised by colour. Apart from that, every experience through your website have been fantastic!     To be honest its quite hard to find something to say because I truly love your fabrics, website and blog. I think for me I would love it if you had a way for search for specific coloured fabrics… so all those in with the same colour or complementary colours could come up together if you search a specific colour scheme. I however agree that simple is best. I love the fabrics you source and would love to be able to buy more from you. I just love using your fabric to make projects and always get excited to see what’s coming up in the store. Brilliant! Thanks Fabric Rehab! x

    I would to see more vintage inspired fabric. Some touchy feely fabric would be good as well.
    As for your redesign, i think a project gallery where customers can put up piccys of what they have made using your fabric. And maybe you could run competitions making projects using your fabric. I bet lots of people would enter, I certainly would!!!

    I’m a complete fabric addict so love your site. It would be useful if we could search by colour and if co-ordinating fabrics could be suggested this would definately encourage me to buy more. Oh and metre prices would make my brain ache less. Can’t wait to see the revamp but in the meantime I’ll just have a little browse (i’m sure theres something I desperately need)..

    I think your site is already easy to use compared with other sites, and usually the first one I come to when I have a pound or two to spend. Please keep it simple and uncluttered. I don’t really come here with anything particular in mind, it’s good to browse, so I’m not too worried about being able to search for specific things, but I can see some people would find that useful. It’s not really a website thing, but it would be great if you could source more babycord – it seems to be particularly hard to track funky stuff down. Great stuff!

Would love to see project ideas as I am a bit of a sewing novice and tips on matching your fabrics together maybe through a tip of the day or project of the month. We could then post our efforts too! There are some empty categories like the sewing kits and charm packs which would be great to see what will be on offer. Definitely agree with being able to sort by colour, of which I wouldn’t mind seeing some white plain fabric too! Hope this helps!! :)

    Love the site already, but a redesign is exciting ;)

    I’d really like to have a section where customers can submit details/photos of projects they’ve made using your fabric, to inspire the rest of us. Failing that – a suggestion of suitable patterns for each bundle would be awesome.

    I love the fabric here but I’m too terrified of messing up something so beautiful and would appreciate a bit of guidance in this area!

    I love all your fabrics and the site is pretty easy to use, but I do agree that it would be great to have the option to search by colour or by pattern. I would like it that whichever category I clicked on, all the options appeared immediately rather than having to click on the view all button. I also think having the option to by by fat quarter or by metre would be great too. Good luck with the redesign and my fingers are firmly crossed for winning all that yummy fabric! ;-) )

    I like the way the site is presented as it is fun to search and I love the bundles. Colour combining might be very useful and a better idea of scale would certainly be great.
    Have you considered offering a selection of haberdashery such as ribbons/buttons etc? Good luck with the re-vamp.

    I’m really interested to see what you do with the redesign. Personally I really like the way you have categorized fabric by design as this is so different from most fabric websites. But I’m always interested in who the designer is and how their fabric collection works together. So my suggestion would be to always mention the designer, name of the fabric and the collection. Maybe when you click on a fabric you like it should bring up the option ‘see more by this designer’. But don’t ever change what you sell as it was all the kokka fabrics on your website which inspired me to set up my lampshade making business! Good luck with the redesign!

    I love your website and shop all too frequently with you (oh my poor wallet!) but what I would love to see would be some of the fabric designers that I read about in blogs from the US who have some lovely range of fabrics but are difficult to get over here, people like Heather Bailey and ooh that new fabric collection from Oliver and S would be good to! Oh and some nice oil clothes that are reasonably ok to sew with (Heather Bailey does some good ones apparently but I don’t want to pay the shipping!)

    What an exciting oppurtunity to give feedback on your shop! I am completely addicted to your fabrics and really really really appreciate the emergency bundles you now offer for £2. They are a fab idea! Perhaps multi-buy incentives would be good and maybe a ‘create your own bundle’ at a fixed price (from a fixed range of materials. I think for me, fabric is more appealing to buy when its in a bundle, so I can resist buying one FQ of material, but if there is a bundle on offer of all materials that I like, then there is no way I can resist).
    Perhaps you could introduce co-ordinating accessories for your bundles, ie buttons?
    When it comes to suggestions about the website itself, I have none, my natural way of thinking is business, I hope you dont mind.

    This is one of my favourite websites and I visit it daily to look for new fabrics. I have always been incredibly impressed with the range and speed of delivery and have passed your details on to many friends before.

    The one thing I would really love would be the ability to search by colour. I feel a bit dim about what fabrics work well together, so the ability to see all fabrics within each colour range would be really helpful.

    I have everything crossed that I win the bundle!

    Just a thought about the look of the website itself. Whilst the text colour is pretty it can be a bit tough on the eyes, even with 20/20. Other than that, love what you do and think previous comments add some really inspiring ideas!

    I just love looking at all these beautiful designs!! Searching by colour would be another useful way of looking for coordinating prints. The ultimate upgrade……being able to stroke the fabric in that “mmmm i like you!!!” way I have a habit of doing in real shops!!!!!!

    I think sorting by colour would be nice too plus I’d like to be able to find a fabric by what’s on it (if i type cat, flower or dot for example) also a choice of buttons to go with it could be nice and I would be thrilled to find oilcloth with cute designs as well.

    Brilliant that you’re taking the effort to hear our feedback. I have to say I found the site really easy to navigate and buy from and being quite new to the world of sewing I liked your site more than many others for it’s simplicity. It would be useful to have a few suggestions of fabrics that go together or sections of colour groups.

    Secondly, my feedback: I like the categories, and it is so good that you always have sale fabrics. I would loved it if you will add some vintage style fabrics because that category is empty, and maybe add an option to save my cart if I want to close the internet and come back…

    I loooove looking at your site – I think it would help if there was more catageories for your ‘bundles’ i.e. sections for ‘emergency bundles’ mini bundles etc., as well as being able tos earch under colour. A great feature would be to have an idea’s page to show peeps what they can ‘do’ with their lovely fabric.

    I think adding price per metre would be useful, as suggested by others. Also, what about adding ‘tags’ to each fabric description, then I can browse fabrics by tags, e.g. All fabrics tagged with cat or bird. Just a different way of searching your fab collection. You could also build a tag cloud which I think is always visually appealing.

    Hi there, your site alwys puts a smile on my face! Thinking about the site redesign, how about letting your users select fabric based on their mood? You could set up a little interactive personality quiz, like some magazines offer. For instance, you could ask users ‘how are you feeling?’ and then their response would dictate what fabrics were offered to them. For instance:
    -The user saying they feel ‘dotty’ could feat their eyes on some gorgeous pretty spotty prints
    - The gal who feels ‘like a time traveller’ could lust over retro fabrics
    - The hippy chick ‘in touch with nature’ could be united with beautiful leaf print designs and urban circus giraffes
    - Those ‘in a holiday humour’ could see Mademoiselle Doll Red Parisian prints and kitsch halloween fabrics.

    hey there lovely people & purveyors of pretty perfect prints.
    Much as your site is my idea of absolute heaven
    as some one interested in adult dress making, then the inclusion of price per metre along side the quarter, would be much appreciated, or a calculation function. I see you do have a limited oilcloth line, but perhaps a wider range and a feature of advice regarding how to work with it would be helpful, as it’s a pretty scary leap for most people, (see viva la frida’s hints & tips)or if not selling the book “Oilcloth Inspirations: Over 25 Fun-to-make Projects,
    By author Sophie Bestermight” a link to or recommendation thereof, might help your take up. Or how about a section of your staff’s favourite sewing/crafting books, that us customers, can add ours to….

    I think will be nice to add a category “by colours” so people that is decorating for a certain colour doesn’t have to go one by one. Also it will be nice if you could sell ribbons, buttons, zippers to make a complete shop and they I don’t have to go to another store to buy if I can find everything I need in your store! I love the idea you support other business like Paper and String!. Also, I have since in other websites that you can add a custom print and then you can print your own design, I think that will be cool as there are loads of talented people out there! And you can have unique designs! Well, hope this is helpful, keep the good work!

    Hi – I only stumbled accross your website a few weeks ago, and had to place an order straight away!
    (I emailed a link to my friend, but couldn’t control my excitement so i had to phone her straight away and tell her to look at it immediately!)
    I found the website very easy to use and i love the clear images – made it very easy for me to keep adding things to my basket!
    The one thing i would like is to have suggested co-ordinated fabrics listed alongside each fabric. (I.e Two of the fabrics i bought; the multicolour Owls & a plain blue cotton which i thought would match the Blue owls on the fabric. The Blues don’t match quite right. I will still use both fabrics, so it’s not a complaint, it would just be useful to see which fabrics will be/ contain the same colours within them (without having to buy a specific bundle) Just a thought…. :)

    Fabric Rehab is my favorite place for buying fabrics online, especially the mini bundles – they are such good value for money and I love the surprise of opening the parcel and not knowing exactly what fabrics i’ll receive. The only thing i’ve found with the website is that you can’t search by designer name or collection name which would be really useful so if you could add this feature that would be perfect!     I love perusing the pages of your webshop.
    I probably wouldn’t change much. Compared to many fabric websites, yours has very good visibility of each fabric swatch, even before you enlarge the image. A very important feature when buying something so visual.

    The only thing I would suggest is that the designer category could be more specific, actually listing each designer individually. Maybe you could make more of your logo, so its got more impact and space compared to the other text at the top of the page.

    You already have so many fabulous fabrics, I’m not sure that you can improve on perfection!

    However, I think it would be great if you had a few examples of what you could make with some of the fabrics. I’m a beginner in the world of sewing and sometimes I’m really baffled as to which design goes well with what. Consequently, I stick to one patterned and one plain. It would be great to have some inspiration to help me be braver!

    Searches are never straightforward as all searchers have different criteria. It may be helpful to have as much information as possible regarding all materials offered. Info that I look for are depending on requirement,as follows:
    Designer
    Colour ways offered
    width of roll, length of roll
    metres/rolls available
    price per metre
    readily available should stocks deplete or limited stock only

    If large quantities required – then I might also be looking at batch numbers to ensure no colour variation in same colour order – just as with wallpaper purchasing.

    Oh yes, and keep it pretty, it is one of the reasons I like to visit your site :-)

    I think fabric rehab is a fantastic website and I love the designs and fabrics on sale! I think it would be beneficial to alter the way you measure the fabric for pricing. I think the ‘unit’ system is a little misleading and confusing. I personally would prefer a more upfront simple way of purchasing the required measurements.

    I will keep using the website as I have been please with the quality I have received!

    I love the charm and fabric bundles, always look so gorgeous. I’d like to be able to buy co-ordinating or contrasting buttons, binding and thread at the same time – I’m a very lazy shopper!

    My daughter would also like to buy little craft kits – things to make for herself or presents, i.e. hairclips, bags, toys etc. A lot of the kits available to buy from other craft stores are a bit naff so gorgeous and quirky craft kits please!

    Hi, you have such a delightful site that not much tweaking is needed! Price per metre is good, and I would also love to see coordinating fabrics near each other – maybe with a sort of ‘You might also like these fabrics which match this selection…’ kind of thing. I love love love the quirkiness of your current ranges and would love to see more vintage items – like hen’s teeth, I know!
    I’d also really like to see a gallery of finished projects – what have others made with their Rehab selections?

    I LOVE THIS SITE and could end up spending a fortune on fabric! I have resisted so far but will no doubt find myself purchasing in the very near future! I think the current layout is very user friendly but agree that offcuts & remnants would be good if sold at discount as these are often handy for patchwork etc. Also prices mer metre would be extremely useful too! Hope all goes well with the redesign! :0)

    I’m a great news about your revamp,I’m a great fan of your site and think it’s already far superior to many similar sites,which can be a bit dull and musty looking,it’s young,funky and fun,and sets my mouth watering like entering my favourite sweet shop, so I think your already on the right line’s.Other things i’d like to see,is perhaps project ideas,from textile artists to compliment the customer projects and competitions from time to time for best customer ideas,themed or otherwise.Also would like to see more vintage fabrics,trims and buttons(I am almost as much of a button addict as a fabric addict).Bye for now eagerly awaiting the revamp.

I think there should be a ‘share and enjoy’ feature on the store fabrics too (like the one on the blog posts)… so us crafty fabric-aholics can share favourite fabric finds with one another… also, I would love to see a wish list & gift voucher feature!     I’ve only recently discovered your website but have completely fallen in love with all your fabrics and the service. I find it very difficult not to order anything whenever I have a look but had to promise my husband to use up the fabric I ordered before buying more. The sewing machine is being kept very busy…

    Great! I’m looking forward to the new look fabric rehab (although it’s already lovely!)
    The only thing I’d say about how to improve the shopping experience would be to offer a reduced postage rate for smaller orders. Sometimes I may want to order just one FQ or one (excellent!) emergency budget bundle and the postage rate of £1.75 might put me off from doing this.

    Love the site – so much inspiration for colour and style – so little time to complete my projects.
    As well as searching by colourway which has been mentioned, what about example groupings of colours that work together – these ideas could be submitted by members.
    What about a wish list page where we could work out our own colour combinations.
    How about a project of the month submitted by members and judged by popular vote.
    keep on searching for the best of the fabrics around your choices are brilliant.

I haven’t bought any from Fabric Rehab – although I absolutely love your fabrics – because I can’t see each of the fabrics in your fabric bundles very clearly. Perhaps you could have a photo of each fabric in the bundle like some other online retailers?

    I’ve just found your site and I absolutly love it, I am in heaven. I’ve just mentally spent all my savings on gorgeous fabric, and have so many different ideas going through my head right now I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight.

    I’d love to see free patterns, price per metre, and clearer photos of what’s in the bundles. The site is so easy to navigate though so I hope that isn’t lost. x

    I love your fabrics (and the name of your shop)!

    The changes that I think would be helpful are to have buttons to click on so that as well as being able to search for fabric by fabric type (cord, dressmaking etc) as you currently have, I’d like to be able to search by fabric designer…and possibly colour too.

    The other thing that I really love is when a website has a ‘view all fabric’ button that allows you to scroll down one enormously long page and view everything in one go – often I won’t know quite what I want and just want to browse everything without worrying that I’m missing something – this is a really good feature when visiting a site for the first time too – it’s so good to see everything laid out in one place.

    I love your site and your fabrics.

    I would love it if there was an option to view all the fabrics available, rather than just view all in each category. Sometimes I have to go back and forward between categories to try and work out if colours will work together. Along the same vein could the thumbnails in the shopping basket be a little bigger?

    I love the idea of having more examples of project around the site as inspiration.

    I always find myself coming back to your site for inspiration and have just finished my first quilt using one of your beautiful fabric bundles.

    As for ideas for improving what you do, I would like to see some suggestions for co-ordinating fabrics beyond the fabric bundles. Colour matches aren’t always easy when you can’t see the fabric in front of you and I have had one or two mismatches from trying to do it myself!

    I find being able to search by colour incredibly useful in addition to pattern and designer. Also, being able to put a fabric you’ve looked at in a “I might be interested” box so you could drag co-ordinating things next to it rather than having to flick between categories. I can get quite confused as to what I’ve looked at already and where it was. Not sure if that’s possible or is very complicated but would be useful in an ideal world.
    Seeing other people’s projects is great for inspiring you to get on with something yourself.
    Competitions to win fabric bundles would be good-even if it’s just a random prize draw for people who’ve purchased online maybe.

    I really like your shop as it sells the unusual, but if I was honest I do like wish lists where I can see the fabrics I want to buy all together it makes it a lot easier when buying on line.
    It’s also useful to see fabrics together to get an idea of size of print and colour.

    I just love love love this site…

    I would love to see cords, and if possible tweeds, more stripes would be amazing as i love spots and stripes… Also i’d love to see all the fabric at once as i love just sitting and imagining what i could do with each one. It would be great to see what you could make with different fabric and maybe sewing kits as well as i just love sitting do a wee project that is guiding you step by step, as i’m just a beginner…

    I always get quite excited browsing this website, but I would love to see some fabrics in your ‘Vintage’ and ‘Cool Cords’ sections as these have been empty for a while. Also, I tend to browse the internet for general inspiration for my sewing projects so it would be great to have an ‘Inspiration’ section maybe showing items you’ve made from your fabrics. Apart from that though, it’s great!

    Absolutely love your site …. found it only recently but totally addicted x
    Here are my suggestions …. and hoping I win ….
    1) Would be good to have a large projects section with suggestions for fabrics/colourways … I often fall in love with a fabric but know that there is a risk that I will buy it and never use it. If I had an end result in mind it would definitely be more of an incentive to buy.
    2) More accessories … your site has a unique style which I and lots of others love. I am also a sucker for buttons and ribbons and all sorts of other fabulous sewing accessories things … would be amazing to imagine the sorts of items you might stock …!
    3) Probably bit of an odd one, but an itunes type of navigation where it is really easy to quickly scan through the different fabrics within a category and perhaps a shopping basket where it is possible to drag and drop fabrics/accessories to see how well they work together ….
    Loving your site and your fabrics are amazing … good luck with the redesign !

    Your fabrics are so fabulous I love looking through your shop. As to a suggestion on what I would like to see, what about some sort of colour collection system? For instance grouping by colour into mostly hot colours, cool colours, patterns on white etc.
    Also you could do an ‘Inspiration selection’ on the front page where you group some of your favourite fabrics that go together as a suggested ‘look’ for the month or week etc. Like the ‘featured fabrics’ but less random and more focused to a ‘look’.
    Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

    Hi

    I am a newbie to this site and found you after reading your advert in a sewing magazine. I must say I am glad I have found you as the collection you stock is right up my street – fresh, modern and different!
    As someone who is returning to sewing many years after taking a G.C.S.E in textiles I have to admit that I am a bit overwhelmed by the choices. What I am finding most helpful at the mo (from other sites I have come across) is having a selection of photos of the fabrics and also picture ideas (to go with your fab written examples) for what they can be used for on the one page. My limited (and dated) experience of fabrics means that I am struggling to pluck up the courage to buy fabrics online without being able to feel them etc. For example I have just bought a great pattern for a tunic top but need some inspiration to find the right fabric to use, there are so many prints that I love but am never sure they will look right as garments ……
    Also, if i can add just one more thing, I did get a bit confused with the different categories and the fact that the fabric groups were listed in two parts (once under ‘fabric’ and then in a little box at the bottom of the list. I actually ended up looking through it all in case I missd anything – the categories themselves are great though, very easy to use :) .

    I LOVE your site and probably visit it each day!! I love the fact that you can see all your new things pretty much as soon as you enter the site, always makes me want to look through the rest!!
    changing the catergories a bit would make shopping easier, maybe by designer or colour, sometimes it takes a while to find what you are looking for! Also maybe more photos of the fabric bundles, sometimes it is difficult to see exactly what you are getting.
    Cant wait to see the face lift though!!

    I think most things I would say have been covered here already, but I love the site, always spoilt for choice, but I think the ways you search could be simplified but expanded, ie search by colour, pattern, theme etc. I also think a price per meter would be a good idea, as this makes it easier to work out if a project is feasible. How about also featuring projects made by customers using fabrics bought from your site?

    Things I’d find really useful are search by colour and designer. Also, my no. 1 most useful thing (which you do already, so please, please, please don’t remove it) is a View All option for a page. I hate having to click Next/Previous to navigate through a category and the lack of it will almost drive me elsewhere!

    One other useful thing would be to have a pic of each fabric in your bundles, rather than just a picture of the bundle. The bundle pic is great for showing how the fabrics co-ordinate, but it doesn’t make it obvious as to what the fabrics in the bundle are.

    Fanastic shop!

    Would love to see:

    - “wish list”/”save for later” option
    - zoom
    - coordinated fabrics (two or three with coordinating plains)
    - improved customer information/response/order status etc.

    The difficult thing for me when buying online is that I cannot touch the fabric. Improved descriptions re: weight, feel, project suggestions, drape, etc. is very helpful.

    You were recommended by a university fashion lecturer – which is pretty telling. I daren’t visit your site too often as I should be so tempted to spend I’d have to live on bread & water until next pay day. All suggestions made by afficionados so far excellent. I’d love patterns for girl’s dresses & tops that reflect current fashions as most available patterns don’t encourage me to experiment with combinations of your delicious fabrics. Looking forward to your face lift: home sewing is definitely undergoing a revival, and thank goodness, as girls’ clothes in particular bought in supermarkets & department stores are poor in design & fabric – far too lacking in dignity, loud and, dare I say it? COMMON – they wear the child instead of the child wearing them. I sound like a snob – as far as fabric is concerned I am, and that’s why I buy from you. Jackie, Lyme Regis.

    Only a small thing, but when you add an item to your shopping cart and then press ‘continue shopping’ it takes you back to the home page and not to the page you were previously on, so you have to find where you were up to each time you add something. Think the categories are great – especially the ‘what’s new’ section!!

    Oooh – your website is already great and really looking forward to an update. Always sneak a peak at work. I absolutely LOVE all the colours and prints you have!

    As a complete newbie and just finished my very first sewing project – a quilt using your little fawn bundle… I would like my next project to be towards the dressmaking part.. I have to say I have found it difficult to find fabric that is also suitable for dresses i.e. drapes well etc as I believe (i.e. read somewhere so might be wrong) that some quilting cotton doesn’t bode well for clothes, especially dresses? Perhaps a small description? Also, if you could show some inspiring ideas/more tutorials for what some of the fabrics could be used for, that would be grand.

    It would also be great if you could compare and contrast different colours, patterns etc in one place so we can see what fabrics work well together.

    You also have a great blog, but I think it is hidden away on the shop page, so I think you should make more of that.

    Have ordered a few times from your site. I love the clear pics of the fabric and the bottom left nav categorisation, e.g. Dots & Stripes and Funky Florals.

    I would like to see fabrics also grouped by colour and maybe even boy/girl selections (I make lots of bibs). I would also like to be able to create a wish list so I can come back and revisit my faves.

    Also, if possible, I’d like the continue shopping link from the shopping basket to take me back to the section I was browsing, rather than the home page.

    It would also be great if your blog could be incorporated into your main website more fully, maybe with the last blog post and link on the homepage.

    It’s always exciting to see websites getting a facelift. I think it would be nice to have a customer accounts area, that way you can track your orders and see your order history. Additionally it would be handy to be able to bookmark fabrics of interest too once you are logged into your account. It would be more useful to have the fabrics categorised by colour rather than print pattern. Also if possible categorising or tagging by designer would be handy too.     Working in a web team myself I would suggest you tag products with social networking sites such as facebook/twitter it would be great to quickly share what our current favourites are! Show prices by the metre, ‘shop by colour’ sections and integrating the blog with product page e.g. ‘projects made with this fabric’ and show customers/design team ideas underneath product image. Also, ‘you may also like’ alternatives on the product page – (good way to keep customers looking around if the fabric they wanted is out of stock). Backorder capabillity if fabric is out of stock? when are they likely to see it back in stock?

    Great website already though, really easy to navigate and GREAT products; the most important thing! :) Thanks x

    I love these competitions – what a fab prize! It would be great to have the facility to see all the fabrics on a scroll down menu, possibly arranged by colour like a rainbow down the page. Or what the actual FQ would look like so you can see roughly how the pattern falls on the piece.

    And – when the categories are clicked on, small links to the blog pages that have “makes” from that particular fabric, or even small images of what has been out of those fabrics.

    The facility to buy all the fabrics used in a make – a link from the blog page to add a fq of each fabric used to the shopping cart – then you can change the quantities if required?

    I already love your website but I will keep coming back – however you change it!

    Hello, the only thing I would suggest is a facility to pre-order and also to keep things on hold when they are out of stock so that you tell us when they come back in stock and you send it to us. But when I recently ordered something that was out of stock, I cose a different fabric instead: Paris Park, which i cannot recommend highly enough, it is gorgeous, i love it so much! The only trouble is that I am waiting for a perfect project to use it on.
    I also love seeing other customer’s finished designs.
    Would love love love so much to win. I have just started this sewing lark and have a very small stash…

    I bought some of your mixed bundles and they are gorgeous. One idea though is perhaps to have a search option for girlie or boyish fabrics. I wanted the fabric to make toys for boys and girls but found a lot of the natural a bit more

    First time I’ve vistied your website, and I have to say, your fabrics are stunning!
    However, being a novice (well, I’m building up to be a novice!) having your cost per metre would be very helpful. Also, a sort facility for your fabric categories – price(low/high etc), bestselling, highest rated. I think what also is really nice is to have a comments section where customers can rate and comment on the fabric.
    I think if you were to offer free tutorials for small projects using examples of your fabric, you’d get a lot of repeat visits… especially from me!

    so happy to have found your site and it´s such a good one.
    Can´t see anything that I would want to change with the design – its cute as buttons! But maybe some cool jersey fabrics och velveton apart from the cotton and linen would be fun too. Love tutorials so it would be great if you had some. I saw some fabrics that I wanted that was out of stock – maybe some kind of mailing list for when its back in the shop would be good. :)

    I am interested to see how you are going to revamp a good site! However, I think that prices per metre would be great! Also, category by colours, and definition of colours, althought they are fairly good already. Apart from that… change nothing its perfect!

    New is always exciting! I have visted your store and I feel it is pretty easy to navigate around. You have great fabric at very great prices! My husband and I are trying to start a family and I am planning on sewing all the baby bedding and accessories. My suggestion is to help people like me who are undecisive see some great color combo options and how to pair different designers.     When clicking on a fabric, it would be good to see a few “works well with” options, so you can see how fabrics look together. Good for quilters!

    This is such a beautiful site already…and I’m very excited about my first order, which I’ve just placed!

    It would be great to be able to see images of each fabric ‘in action’ as well as the current photo – e.g. links to customer projects which have used that fabric. I’d also like to be able to marvel at all the fabrics at once, and then be able to apply colour filters etc.

    Hello, i absolutley love your website! The choice of fabrics is great and i love using the fabrics in my projects, but i often browse the fabrics on the main page then go to order and find that the fabric is out of stock. Can it be indicated on the browsing page whether they are in stock? I also dont always have the money to buy the larger bundles and i find the smaller bundles go out of stock first.
    I would also love to see you stock coordinating trimmings for the fabric, buttons etc

    I’m new to the site, and I think the look and feel of it is great. Agree with other comments that more seach options would be good, such as by price / colour etc. Also perhaps the opportunity to put togther a “bespoke” bundle from a range of available fabrics.

    Personally I like the way the shop/site looks now. Perhaps a few more bundles – I loved the emergency budget bundles that you did a while ago.
    Think the site is easy to navigate though maybe a personal shopper type thing – especially if people are looking for good combinations of fabrics for a quilt – recommendations of fabrics which compliment each other?

    I think you have one of the best selection of fabrics on the web for UK customers. I am looking forward to seeing what the new site looks like. One thing I would prefer is to be able to see more fabrics on the page at once, and also, if you could categorise them by colour also.

    One other thing which would be really useful, would be suggestions of other fabrics that match the one you have selected to look at/buy….

    How about some category which links ‘fabric to projects’. What I mean by that, sometimes fabric with a really large scale pattern is not suitable for stitching up a small purse but might be good for a cushion cover.

    Just had another thought, I know you do the bundles and mini bundles, but I’d love to find a fabric website selling ‘scrap bags’. I make small textile jewellery pieces and to find a bag of scraps even if bits are only an inch square which is no use to anyone else can always find a use in my work. Maybe a bag of bits for £2 would be an interesting idea.

    1. when searching for fabrics it would be brilliant if an enlarged image came up automatically when the icon rolls over the picture of the fabric rather than having to click on it to get a bigger image up?

    2. Could there be a rolling banner of new fabrics – that when clicked on would take you to the purchase point for the fabric?

    3. Could there part of the website devoted to creative projects that fabric rehab purchasers have undertaken with your fabrics?

    4. Could there be more information on the designers behind the fabric?

    I love your site….I always like to come over and see what you’ve got in.

    It would be good to have some bundles that have a larger no o fat quarters or maybe larger pieces of fabric so that it would make a whole quilt top. They do this on some of the American sites and it is good when you get enough fabric to get a whole project done.
