Blue Monday Giveaway

Here in the depths of January today is apparently ’ Blue Monday’. The 3rd Monday of the month is the day where we are most lightly to feel fed up, under par and generally cheesed off.

But don’t worry spring is on it’s way and the daff’s will be blooming soon! And even better Fabric Rehab are having a Blue Monday giveaway of a bumper bundle of gorgeous and very spring like fabric’s from our new Lecien delivery.

To enter the giveaway all you need to do is tell us what brightens your day!

To be entered into the draw you must leave your comment on this post – one comment per entrant. Closing date Friday the 20th of January at 9pm. Comments left after this date will not be included in the draw. Winner picked at random and notified shortly after. Good Luck!!

Well at the moment I am preggers and very ill with a Sinus infection, what brightens my day is when hubby calls to say he is coming home early to take over watching the kids !! SLEEP !! But failing that I love it when my eldest comes up to me and says she has to give the baby in my tummy a kiss and a cuddle. It’s so cute and just makes me smile everytime. x

The highlight of my day, without a doubt, is waking up, opening my work email and not having any new email/panic to deal with! Doesn’t happen often at all, but when it does it’s like a mini-miracle and the rest of my day just bounces!

These lovely cold but sunny winter days we are having here at the moment are bright enough, but when the sun isn’t so keen other things that brighten my day are my children (when they are in good moods) and a big cup of tea and some chocolate when they are not!!

My son brightens my day, as soon as I open his door in the morning I hear HI MOM and he runs to me!! Warms my heart every morning even if I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, which makes for a great day, everyday! The things that brighten my up my day is when the postman delivers my new fabrics! I get so excited its like Christmas! And the feeling of giving someone a handmade gift! And a feeling of accomplishment when you finish something you’ve made from scratch!

Waking up and feeling my baby move in my tummy, and thinking wont be long till I meet you now..he/she is due on the 11th Feb..:-) cant wait..although he/she needs to stay put for another couple of weeks till I can complete a couple of little sewing projects I have to make before they arrive some bunting and a patcwork blanket..its a fab bundle would love to win it xx

I’m having a rather blue Monday, hubby and toddler have the stomach flu and the only thing thats brightening my day is that im due baby no. 2 on Thursday and yet to get the bug…wish me luck I don’t! A bundle would here me up endlessly, lots of fabby things to make the new baby!

knowing that although it is cold and frosty outside, I’m cosy inside, sitting at my sewing machine, finishing off an heirloom quilt that my mother started 30 years ago and never finished – it contains remnants from all the pretty dresses I wore as a child and is bringing back many happy memories!

Going outside to see my animals always brightens my day, especially when they run over to see me. Granted, its only because they think they’re going to get food but its nice to think they like to see me! Spending a few minutes with them can always brighten my mood after a stressful day.

Walking to work and it starting to be light in the morning rather then pitch black darkness! My beautiful wee boys, stitching, jewel coloured threads, button boxes, cake stands, chocolate, frosty mornings, finding great shells on the beach, finding fab pine cones in the forest, snow angels, cupcakes, vintage spoons, thistles, lattes, old lace, the smell of paper whites, the smell of lilac, sharpened pencils and notebooks, a great novel, bunnies, clean sheets, sharing a joke, sharing a smile, scones with cream, watching my boys sleep, hot sun and blue skies, tall grass, wet grass, candles, old photographs, sparkly earings, sneakers, new lipstick, snuggley blankets, and a stack of new fabrics to stroke!

My hubby and son always brighten up my day.

My daughter brightens my day! She is only 18 months old and I just love seeing her learning something new each day. At the moment it is copying mummy cooking on her own little kitchen which I have put up in my kitchen! Last week it was putting her shoes on all by herself. Kids are the best, even when she keeps me up all night because she has chickenpox, just her smile makes everything better.

It goes without saying that my two sons brighten my day, but apart from that I love receiving one of my crafty/sewing/foody mags through the post. I love ripping off the plastic wrapping and looking at the gorgeous covers and then snuggling down on the settee with a lovely brew and reading them…aaaah bliss….

I am new to sewing and what brightened my day was finishing a tote bag for a friend and getting a message from her to say that receiving the bag had cheered up what had been an horrendous day for her. She loved it and I was so happy that I had managed to make something that she can keep and cherish.

The sunshine always helps. A cure for a very cold start to the day was seeing the sun rise over icy blue fields making lots of beautiful orange and pink streaks in the sky that slowly turned paler and then blue higher up. Lovely.

Hmm, what brightens my day? Probably my first cup of tea of the day. It’s not something I always drink first thing in the morning; sometimes my first cup will be at lunchtime, sometimes as bedtime. But it does brighten my day!

My day is brightened up when my kids turn to me, holding hands together and tell me that I’m their best friend. Coupled with kisses and cuddles, this is definitely the perfect start to the day! It always makes me smile when my four year old spots a pretty dress or skirt and says “my mummy can make that, can’t you mummy!!”

I brighten my Monday with a good Does of Glee Club, we sing (not necessarily in tune) we dance (not necessarily in time) and we just have some great fun. Currently trying to decide on what I can make for our next set of costumes so getting some great inspiration on here
